Crystals, Candles, and Sage: an up close and personal look at my altar and other spiritual tools.

In a couple of my posts I’ve talked about my altar and God box, today when I was cleaning I felt compelled to take some pictures of my room and altar. I take a lot of pride in my crystal collection, it’s small but almost all of them have been given to me by people that I love and care about.

My altar
Close up of my crystal box and fairy door

A year ago I would’ve never imagined having an altar in progress, let alone believing in the power of crystals. Now a days, I don’t leave my house without one in my pocket. My favorite crystal to carry is my small lapis lazuli because it helps me remain connected to my higher power and spirituality when I’m outside of my safe space. Lately I’ve also been carrying my black moonstone, I find that in instances where I have writer’s block- if I hold my moonstone in one hand and write with my other, the block starts to fade the longer I hold the stone.

I’m not a huge crystal buff, I can’t tell you what all the stones in my collection help with, but I do know if I’m drawn to a stone- there must be a reason why. If I’m ever not sure of why, I simply google the properties of the stone I’m drawn to and usually laugh when I’m reading about it because it’ll help with whatever seems to be coming up for me on that particular day.

My bedside table protection

On my bedside table, I keep a sandalwood candle infused with tourmaline crystals. I love tourmaline as a protection stone and wear it as jewelry if going to be in any unknown situations, out of the house for an extended period of time, or if I know I’m spending time with someone who’s spiritually not at their best. There big tower is selenite: I used to keep that on my altar but I recently moved it, my sponsor who well versed in crystals told me that it can help quiet my mind down when I’m struggling with insomnia and help me sleep. I moved it a few days ago and I actually have been able to fall asleep much easier. The last thing on my bedside table is my amethyst, this is also a protection stone, but it can also be used for meditation to open your crown chakra. I have used it in meditation, by placing it right on the pillow above my crown chakra. I was meditating for answers on how to handle a situation and during the meditation through imagery I was given the answers that I needed in order to take action.

My God box and palo santo

Lastly I really wanted to show my God box up close, the palo santo is not of it for any specific reason. The box itself is relatively simple, but the more I use it – the more it seems to work when I use. I keep a note pad and marker right behind it so I’m not fumbling for paper and writing utensils in my time of need.

Anything can be a God box/ Universe box, whatever you choose to call it. I would recommend this as a tool for anybody who struggles to pray mentally, anybody who has concerns that seem haunt them. This box has saved my mind so many times and is one of the tools I use the most.
